"There are seldom songs sung by a woman, for a woman (or a man for a man for that matter) and it's sad, why are there not more same sex love songs? So with my interpretation I'm hoping people will connect with this song, and actually see it's beauty and be able to identify and relate to it. It really could be about any love in your life, your girlfriend, your mom, your sister, your friend, heck, it could even be about yourself. So, I hope I did Ray LaMontagne proud, and did "Trouble" the justice it deserves!" - Adriana

Adriana Louise

Born and raised in Brooklyn NY, Adriana Louise was always fortunate to be immersed in the Arts from a young age. She discovered her love of music in elementary school, playing the mandolin with her school’s orchestra. Adriana auditioned for the famed Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School for Music Art & the Performing Arts, and was accepted for their Vocal Program. After graduating Adriana appeared on The Voice and made it all the way to the Top 12 of her season. A live tour followed. Her vocal talents soon caught the ear of legendary producer, songwriter, and founder of The Orchard Richard Gottehrer. He hand picked her to sing on his “Instant Love” project for his label Instant Records. The single “Trouble” is out in April 2017. Adriana is currently residing in NYC while writing and recording her debut EP.

In her own words...

Why did you want to be a part of Instant Love project?:

"I just had to jump at the chance at this opportunity to be a part of Instant Love, a movement that embodied such female empowerment. In this political climate, it's hard being a woman. Yes, we've fought for years to have the same rights as men, but women's rights and value are being disparaged on a daily basis nowadays and it's reignited a lot of fight and sisterhood that I hope continues to grow.  So, to be a part of a project that encourages that, and says, "I am woman, proud, hear me roar" haha, and doing so via my favorite medium; music, I couldn't forgive myself if I hadn't been involved in this." - Adriana

Why did you choose "Trouble"? :

"I chose "Trouble" by Ray LaMontagne, frankly because I've loved this songs for a few years now, and always felt connected to the lyrics and sentiment behind the song. To me, it just embodies how powerful love is, that you could be in such a dark place and be lifted out of that, by love and the love of another. As a female singing it and keeping the lyrics as is, it really spoke to me. It made me think of the expression "Love is Love". There are seldom songs sung by a woman, for a woman (or a man for a man for that matter) and it's sad, why are there not more same sex love songs? So with my interpretation I'm hoping people will connect with this song, and actually see it's beauty and be able to identify and relate to it.  It really could be about any love in your life, your girlfriend, your mom, your sister, your friend, heck, it could even be about yourself. So, I hope I did Ray LaMontagne proud, and did "Trouble" the justice it deserves!" - Adriana

Lyrics

"Trouble" written by Ray LaMontagne

Trouble
Trouble, trouble, trouble, trouble
Trouble been doggin' my soul since the day I was born
Worry
Worry, worry, worry, worry
Worry just will not seem to leave my mind alone
We'll I've been
Saved by a woman
I've been
Saved by a woman
I've been
Saved by a woman
She won't let me go
She won't let me go now
She won't let me go
She won't let me go now

Trouble
Oh, trouble, trouble, trouble, trouble
Feels like every time I get back on my feet
She come around and knock me down again
Worry
Oh, worry, worry, worry, worry
Sometimes I swear it feels like this worry is my only friend
We'll I've been saved
By a woman
I've been saved
By a woman
I've been saved
By a woman
She won't let me go
She won't let me go now
She won't let me go
She won't let me go now

Oh, ah
Oh
She good to me now
She gave me love and affection
She good tell me now
She gave me love and affection
I Said I love her
Yes I love her
I said I love her
I said I love
She good to me now
She's good to me
She's good to me
